Uniformed Patrol Unit

Emory’s Atlanta, Oxford, and Midtown campuses each have a uniformed patrol unit. These units provide police services to the campuses and their adjacent areas 24/7, every day of the year. Officers patrol their assigned areas in vehicles, on bicycles, and on foot and respond to requests for emergency and nonemergency assistance. EPD officers are fully trained and certified by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council to respond to criminal incidents and take appropriate action, including arrests. However, enforcement is a small part of EPD uniformed patrol’s role. As members of the Emory community, our officers are service providers committed to preserving safety across Emory and continually building our bond of trust with the community.
